Privacy Policy
ClipMelo is built around in-browser media processing to minimize data exposure.
1. Local Browser Media Processing
Audio files you open, edit, or record are processed locally in your browser. We do not operate media ingestion servers, and your audio files are not uploaded to our servers during editing or export.
2. Transient Session Lifecycle
Audio data is held in temporary browser memory during your active session. Closing or refreshing the page resets the session; data is not stored in persistent browser storage or cloud profiles.
3. Microphone Permissions
Microphone access is requested only when you choose to use the Voice Recorder. The microphone stream is used solely to capture your recording and is closed when recording stops.
4. Optional Analytics and Cookies
This site may offer optional Google Analytics 4 to understand general traffic trends. Google Analytics 4 operates under regional privacy policies: in regions requiring prior consent (such as the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and conservative jurisdictions) or where visitor region is unknown, measurement only loads if you choose Allow in the footer settings. In other recognized regions, measurement is enabled by default with opt-out available at any time via the footer settings (remains off if storage is blocked). If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track (DNT) signal, analytics is automatically disabled regardless of region. Choosing not to allow analytics or withdrawing consent at any time never restricts access to any tool.
When enabled, Google Analytics uses pseudonymous cookies (such as _ga, expiring in up to 180 days) to distinguish unique visits, and your choice is remembered in localStorage for up to 180 days (or temporary memory if storage is unavailable). Google receives standard connection metadata, including your IP address, browser type, device details, referring domain, and clean page addresses without media data or fragments. Advertising features, Google Signals, and ad personalization are disabled with no cross-site identification; network requests transmit your IP address to Google to facilitate the connection, and data may be processed on servers outside your country by Google and its affiliates. User-level and event-level data retention in Google Analytics is limited to 2 months with reset on new activity disabled; standard aggregate reports may remain longer. Cookie consent choice and pseudonymous cookies expire in up to 180 days, while first-party server telemetry retains raw logs for up to 14 days and daily aggregate counts for up to 90 days. You can opt out or withdraw consent at any time via the footer settings; doing so immediately stops data collection and clears Google analytics cookies without removing your local settings.
5. Operational Telemetry (Planned Production Standard)
In production, minimal first-party server access logs may be recorded to verify service availability. Visitors are counted anonymously using daily salted hashes without storing raw IP addresses or User-Agent strings. This first-party telemetry uses no tracking scripts or advertising cookies (optional analytics is governed by Section 4 above). Raw logs are retained for up to 14 days and daily aggregates for up to 90 days. Local preview builds do not record or send telemetry.

7. When You Email Us
If you write to contact@clipmelo.com, the message is received by the email routing service of Cloudflare, which passes it on to the mailbox our operators read, hosted by Google (Gmail), and also hands a copy to a small program we run on Cloudflare, which keeps it only until our own server has fetched it — normally within minutes and never longer than 14 days. Our server, hosted by Google Cloud in the United States, keeps your email address and name, the subject, the text of the message, the technical headers and the names and sizes of any attachments (not the attachments themselves) in our internal support list for up to 180 days and then deletes them. Cloudflare's delivery log records the sender and recipient addresses, the subject and the result of the delivery for about a month. We use your message only to answer you, keep it only as long as we need it and delete it when you ask us to. Please do not attach recordings you have not chosen to share.
